2Baba ends a six-year album break with “Oldest Young Man”
The man behind "African Queen" drops his first studio album since 2020's Warriors on November 27.
One of Afrobeats' founding fathers is back with a full album. 2Baba has announced Oldest Young Man for November 27. It's his first studio album since Warriors in 2020, which had Burna Boy, Wizkid and Olamide on it.
His announcement called it a continuation of his legacy and promised music with no expiry date. He's already shared two singles: "Ifesinachi", and "Mental" with Fave, which came out around his 51st birthday in September. He also played some of the album to guests at a birthday listening party in Lagos.

If you only know one 2Baba song, it's "African Queen". That 2004 love song, released when he was still 2Face Idibia, crossed borders long before Afrobeats was big around the world. It came after his years in Plantashun Boiz, and his career has been running ever since.
Is "African Queen" still the greatest Afrobeats love song?
